Programs and Events

Adult Programs are for High School through Adult.  If anyone younger than high school attends, they must be accompanied by an adult (age 18 or over).

(ADULT)   June 4—12:30pm—It’s a Library Mystery! Get to know your library as you race to find hidden clues in this fast-paced Library Mystery.  Sign-up at the Library to play this who-done-it event!

(TEEN) June 5—10:00am–Fairy Tales, Universally Appealing and Delicious. Decorate cupcakes with a Fairy tale theme for some eatable reading fun.  Judges and prizes!

June 6—10:30am–Noah’s Ark Workshop, “There is No Place Like Space”. Listen to the book, watch a video, and stuff a purple alien friend!  MUST BE SIGNED UP to participate—Supplies limited.

(ADULT)   June 11—10:00am—Book Chat. Come and share the book you just read with the group and hear about what everyone else has been reading.  You might get ideas for your next great read from this group.  Refreshments provided.

(TEEN)   June 12—10:00am—Starry Night Sidewalk Art.  Learn about the artist Van Gogh and sidewalk art, then recreate Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” masterpiece on the Library sidewalk!  It’s a sidewalk Art Show!

June 13—10:00am–Out of this World Crafts.  Get creative! Do any or all of them! There is a mobile of planets, telescope, spaceship, space shuttle and more!  Multiple stations for crafts. Supplies provided.

June 14—10:30am—Ukulele Universe. Thad Beach returns with a galaxy of good times, stellar songs and stories.  Meet Astro Betty and the Little Green Dancing Man, and join the Space Jam Crew on a musical mission!

(ADULT)   June 18—10:00am—Recycle Book Craft. Create an inspiring visual display from old books.  See a sample at the library.  Supplies provided.  Please sign up so we have enough materials.

June 19—10:00am—Trip to Mars. Come play a game and see what it takes to fly to Mars!  Will you have to come back to Earth and start over? Or make a successful mission?

June 20—10:00am—Jammin Randy, Rocking Through the Universe.  A new performer for us, new original songs about the stars, planets, and the sun. Take a trip on his Rockin’ Rocketship with songs, stories, and fun!

June 21—10:00am—Out of This World Science, The Exploration Place in Wichita bringing hands on science activity stations: Stomp Rockets, Constellation Cut-outs, Moon Phases and more!

(TEENS)   June 26—10:00am—Spacecraft Landing Egg Drop.  Build a spacecraft that will safely carry your fragile astronaut on splash down from space!  All supplies provided.

June 27—10:30am—Mad Science presents “Walking on the Moon. Learn about space travel with emphasis on the 50th Anniversary of the first man on the moon during NASA’s Apollo 11 mission.

July 2—6:30pm—Dan Dan the Magic Man. An Out of This World experience loaded with humor, live animals, and tons of audience participation.  Bring Mom and Dad for a family evening out!  Note the different day and time!

July 3—10:00am—Chocolate Olympic Games.  Moon Rock Relay, Mars Soup, Star Painting, Galaxy Shuffleboard and Space Suit Relay!  All done with chocolate! The Universe is better with chocolate!

July 12, 2019, at 6:30 pm  FINAL PROGRAM and PRIZE DRAWING will be held at Meade Public Library.  Must be present to win prizes.
