Summer Reading – Week 6

Summer 2013 - 4Can you believe the 2013 Summer Reading Program is almost over?  Just a few more days to go!

July 10 (Wednesday) 10:00 a.m.:  This is the last day to turn your books in for credit.  We are open until 5:00 p.m. on this day.
Also happening on this day:  Clint Stapleton will bring a real Road Grader to the library for Construction Junction.  Make sure to bring your cameras for this awesome photo opportunity.

July 12 (Friday) 10:00 a.m.:  For Teens Only with LaTonya–Dirty Jobs.  Come and see what Dirty Jobs LaTonya has planned for the teen crowd!

July 13 (Saturday) 2:00 p.m.:  The Final Program and Prize Drawings.  Participants must have completed their Summer Reading Requirements to be eligible for the drawings.  Must be present to win.
For the program:  Anne Hawkins of Topeka KS will portray Mary Jane Ritche – Dig Into History:  The Underground Railroad in Bleeding Kansas

Anne Hawkins is a historian and educator with a masters degree in history..  She loves teaching and bringing history to life.  She teaches at Washburn University and also teaches U.S. and World History courses to homeschooled youth acros Northeast Kansas.  Ms. Hawkins will be portraying Mary Jane Ritchie who was part of the Underground Railroad in 1860 Kansas Territory.
