Get a Clue @ Your Library

This was the theme for the 2007 Summer Reading Program. A wide variety of activities, all centered around the detective theme, was enjoyed by Pre-Schoolers thru Adults.
On June 6, Christine McPheter from the Meade County Extension Office presented the program “Follow the Trail to Good Nutrition.” Participating sleuths made delicious but nutritious snacks.
Meade’s daring detectives were invited to investigate the world of our local crime solvers on June 13. Meade County Sheriff’s Officers did Ident-a-Kid fingerprints of participants. They also had a drug dog demonstration and helped solve a library mystery.
June 20 brought the kids to the library for “I Spy Cool Crafts.” The younger kids decorated foam sunglasses, while the older ones made scratch art glasses. Everyone made I Spy bottles. Darcy Golliher, Meade District Hospital Safe Kids director, did car seat safety inspections and tested participants for fugitive germs.
On June 27, Dan Dan the Magic Man came to entertain the kids and their families with his magic show. After the show, we had refreshments and prize drawings for those who completed the program.
Adults also participated in our Summer Reading Program.
