May 23:  First day to check books out for Summer Reading Program

May 28 – Wednesday – ( 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Come & Go):  Craft Day to decorate the library for the summer

June 2:  First day to count books for Summer Reading Program

All programs start at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

June 3 (Tuesday):  Teens – Abnegation Training

June 4 (Wednesday):  Family Story Time – Science of Sounds

June 5 (Thursday):  Everyone – Spark a Reaction! Electricity presented by CMS Electric

June 10 (Tuesday):  Teens – Amity Training

June 11 (Wednesday):  Family Story Time – Science of Smells

June 12 (Thursday):  Everyone – Migrating Birds presented by Tom Flowers

June 17 (Tuesday):  Teens – Dauntless Training

June 18 (Wednesday):  Family Story Time – Science of Colors

June 19 (Thursday):  Have Fun with the Science of Nutrition! presented by Christine McPheter/Meade County Extension Office.

June 20 (Friday)  8:30 p.m.:  Astronomy presented by Steve Andrews at the Meade Golf Course

June 24 (Tuesday):  Teens – Candor Training

June 25 (Wednesday):  Family Story Time – Magnificent Magnets

June 26 (Thursday):  Everyone – The Mad Scientist

July 1 (Tuesday):  Teens – Erudite Training

July 2 (Wednesday):  Family Story Time – The Science of Wonderful Water

July 3 (Thursday):  Everyone – Wild and Crazy Experiements with Dr. May and Professor Mellard

July 8 (Tuesday):  Teens – Divergent Training

July 9 (Wednesday):  Family Story Time – Angry Birds & Building Pigs:  The Science of Simple Machines
This is the last to count books for the Summer Reading Program

July 12 (Saturday):  Final Program:   The Science of Music presented by Sarah May.  Drawing for prizes (for those who completed the program) will follow.



Divergent – Teen Program

The teen program is open to participants from Fifth Grade through High School.  Marshela and Kelli will be leading the teen program this year which is based on the book Divergent by Veronica Roth.  Programs are on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. Abnegation was formed by those who blamed selfishness for human nature’s errors.
