Good Times at the Library

Lavonne Walter was the story time leader on February 1.  Her theme was “Hats, Hats, Hats.”  The children had a great time with the hats — wearing all the different and hats and also creating their very own.

Story Time

Story Time will be held this coming Wednesday, February 1, at 10:00 a.m.  We hope the furnace in the community room is working better this week, so we can have it back in there again!  Lavonne Walter will be our story time leader, and the theme she has chosen is “Hats.”  We look forward to having a good time.

Story Time

Story Time will be this coming Wednesday, January 4, at 10:00 a.m.  Sarah May will be our Story Time leader, and she will read stories centering around “The Arts.”  We look forward to the New Year and some fun times at Meade Public Library!

New Year’s Closing

Can you believe that 2012 is almost here?  It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago when we were celebrating the year 2000!

The library will be closed during the long New Year’s weekend (Friday through Monday) of December 30 and 31 and January 2.  Please make sure you have plenty of reading materials and DVD’s to make it through the long weekend!

Come back to meadelibrary.info to find the spring  schedule for Story Time — lots of fun things are being planned.  The Holiday Harvest of Books will continue through the end of the year.  Books can now be purchased at a discounted rate.  It’s the perfect opportunity to remember a loved one by purchasing a book and donating it to the library.

Library Closing – Wednesday Story Time

The library will be closed on Tuesday, December 20, due to the bad weather conditions.

Story Time is still going on as scheduled on Wednesday, December 21, at 10:00 a.m.  Mother Goose will be reading Christmas stories to the children.

Don’t forget that we will also close during the Christmas Weekend — December 23, 24 and 26.  Please make sure you have plenty of reading materials and DVD’s to make it through the long weekend!  We hope you have a Very Merry Christmas!

Story Time on Wednesday

Harold and the Purple CrayonStory time will be on Wednesday, December 7, at 10:00 a.m.  Jateice Vieux will be the story time leader for the day, and she will be reading her “Favorite Stories.”  Jateice is a very enthusiastic story teller, so the little ones are sure to have a good time.

Story Time on Wednesday

Be sure to join us this Wednesday November 16, for “Thanksgiving and Special Songs.”  Story Time begins at 10:00 a.m., and Sarah May will be our story time leader for the day.

Tickets are now on sale for the Christmas Home Tour on December 4, 2011.  The tour will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and features the homes of Jeff & Angie Howard, Bill & Susan Meggenberg and Sarah Lewis, St. John’s Lutheran Church, and the Dusty Rose Shop.  We will have more details about the tour within the week, so check back with us soon.

The Holiday Harvest of Books will continue throughout the month of November.  This is a perfect chance to purchase a book for the library and donate it in memory or honor of a loved one.

Story Time – Colors

Story time will be on Wednesday, November 2, at 10:00 a.m.  The theme for the day is “Colors.”  Marshan Padgett will be the story time leader, and she has lots of stories and activities planned.  Get into the theme of things and wear your favorite color on that day!

Story Time – TALK

This Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. will be Story Time.  Janice Hawley will be the Story Time leader, and her theme will be “Pumpkins.”   We will have lots of fun with the stories and activities.

Saturday is the last installment in our TALK series “The Great Plains Spirit.”  The book to be discussed is Great Plains by Ian Frazier.  Dr. Steve Foulke, Associate Professor of History and Political Science at Ottawa University, will lead the discussion.
