Southwest Kansas can certainly be proud of the libraries that serve our communities.  Several libraries, including Meade, were recognized at the 2013 Kansas Library Association conference held in Topeka, October 9-11.  Awards received are:  KLA Presidential Award for New Professional to Caleb May, Director of Meade Public Library; KLA Presidential Award for Library Personnel, Charlene McGuire, Southwest Kansas Library System (SWKLS); and Best Small Library in Kansas to Kinsley Public Library.

A lot of work and effort goes into making our libraries run smoothly and to provide the best service out patrons.  We’re thankful to have such accomplished staff, not only here in Meade, but across Southwest Kansas.  Congratulations!

Emily Sitz – SWKLS Director, Jo Budler – Kansas State Librarian, Charlene McGuire – SWKLS Technology Consultant, Caleb May – Director of Meade Public Library, Joan Weaver – Director of Kinsley Public Library, Rosetta Graff – Librarian at Meade Public Library.
